Local community church spreading the Christian message in Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin.
My Role
As I was the sole person working on this project, my responsibilities covered a full design process which included UX, UI, Frontend and backend development. The first phase started with meeting the client to discuss the requirements of their website. As they already had a brand and logo in place, they asked me to use this as a starting point to create their new website.
I carried out some research of other church websites in Ireland for comparison to get an idea of what features the new website should have.
Using the research as a base, designs were created and sent to the client for approval. Once the designs were approved, the development of the website started.
The website was created in Wordpress and a theme was created from the ground up. I usually choose to create a theme from scratch in order to have more control and manage the code correctly.
Once the development was complete and tested from my perspective, a test site was sent to the client for their own round of testing. I encouraged them to test all aspects of the site, report any bugs and ask questions they may have on the functionality of the site.
